2008 Christmas Fair - a huge thank you to everyone! Thanks to everyone that was involved in organising the Friends Christmas Fair on Saturday 22nd November. Thanks also to everyone that took the time to come along - it was well worth the visit! Thank you to parents, Friends and stallholdersA huge thank you to all our helpers - not just those on Friends committee, but also those parents (and their children) that volunteered their time. We really appreciate your help and couldn't have done without you - it was a very busy morning! Thanks to all the parents who donated items for our luxury hampers raffle, tombola and cake stall. We had a huge array of very high quality produce! |
Thanks to everyone on the Friends committee (and their respective husbands / partners / kids) who worked brilliantly as a team. Special thanks has to go to Philip Maud and his team in the Long Gallery kitchen coping with hundreds of bacon butties, cheese toasties and drinks.
Plus thanks to Nicky for her amazing hampers (rumour has it she was up until the early hours on Sat morning putting the finishing touches to those). Our resident tombola experts, Linda and Jonathan Wray, did a brilliant job in the foyer - plus everyone else, especially the new members of the Friends' committee, you were fabulous! Also thanks to everyone that came along on the Friday afternoon to set up - and then those that took it all down again afterwards.
A big thank you to Paul, Paula and Nigel selling hot drinks to the sports spectators in the freezing cold outside in the school gazebo - it was freezing cold out there! The same goes for everyone helping to man the games stall.
Thanks to Jayne, Jill, Karen and Bev for doing all the planning from September onwards. You wouldn't believe how much work goes into organising just THREE HOURS of Christmas Fair. Also thanks to Jill for organising the Northbook wrapping paper sale. (Please get in touch with us if you haven't picked up your order yet.)
And of course, a big thank you to all our 30+ stallholders for the imaginative array of gifts and crafts on sale.
Thank you to all the staff and pupils
A huge thank you to the General Office staff for printing, laminating and distributing mountains of leaflets and posters - and always being willing to take more on board. Thanks to Pat on the Sports Centre reception desk for taking in all the raffle and tombola donations.

Thank you to the caretaking staff for putting up our colourful banner on Harrogate Road. The caretakers were also responsible for organising all the tables and chairs and stacks of other things that go on behind the scenes but which were vital to the success of the day. They were there long before the Fair started on the Saturday morning - from 6.30am!
Thanks to Sharman Todd for all her hard work and good advice, helping Bev, Jill and Jayne with room layouts and much, much more.
Thanks also to the kitchen staff for organising all those bacon butties - not to mention our own committee members that were busy serving up butties, hot drinks and toasties in the Long Gallery kitchen. They did a fantastic job!
Thanks to the theatre for sorting out piped Christmas music on the day and also the star curtain which made the theatre look much more festive. Also thank you to the school flautists who played so beautifully in the Long Gallery and really got us into the festive spirit.
An extra thank you to all the 'runners' - the pupils that volunteered to take hot drinks to spectators watching netball and rugby, etc. They were the ones wearing the santa hats and Christmas Fair teeshirts!
And finally, thank you to any parents that donated vouchers from their businesses for our tombola, such as Xandadu1816 men's grooming salon, Bradford, on the right.
