Important news
Not been to an event yet? Here's why you should!
We've always said that the main purpose of the Friends of Woodhouse Grove is for parents to meet and socialise. Our secondary purpose is to raise funds - but of course the more tickets we sell, the more money we make!
Our funds are used to purchase vital equipment for clubs and groups around the school, items that aren't covered by school fees.
So without Friends' donations, our children's experience at Woodhouse Grove wouldn't be as rich and varied as it is. Ideally, we'd like to help even more clubs and groups - but to do this, we need you to support our events.
It's your child that benefits from our fundraising!
Virtually every area within the school has benefited from our donations: the Medical Centre, Theatre, Swim Club, school musicians, sports groups, Climbing Club, Fencing Club, ESOL and many more plus our annual Scholarship awards.
Your child is almost certainly benefiting from the money we raise. So if you haven't been to an event, please do make an effort to support us in 2008/9.
We made lots of money via our Christmas Fair and Ice Skating - but would love to see more numbers at our social events. After all, that's what we're here for!
Join Friends of Woodhouse Grove
Do you want to get more involved in the school? Get to know other parents? Help to organise fun social events? Do you have special skills we could use? If so, we'd be delighted to welcome you to the Friends Committee!
As 'old parents' move up through the school, and eventually leave, we need other parents to fill the gap. So why not come along to our next meeting (Monday 12th January 7.30pm Rawson Room - see left for directions) to see what we do? There's no pressure to join - but we'd be thrilled if you did!! Or call Bev on 0113 2665785 if you'd like to find out more about joining us.
Do your Christmas shopping online via our affiliate link and you could win £1000!
Last year we raised a fantastic amount because parents and staff remembered to click on our affiliate link when doing their Christmas shopping online!
The pink 'shopping bag' link on the right takes you to hundreds of leading online stores - and every time you make a purchase we get commission!
It's a great way to raise money by doing something we all love... shopping!... without having to pay a penny more than if you clicked onto the stores direct. You'll find lots of special offers to save you money this Christmas. AND every time you click and order via our link before 31st Jan 2009 you'll be entered into a draw to win £1,000!
Books, music, clothes, gifts... you'll find them all - through stores you'll recognise. It's well worth doing because the commission really DOES add up over the year - you'd be amazed!!! For an A-Z list of participating stores and to start shopping, click here>>
